Adam Fravel's Trial Set for Fall

WINONA, Minn. — Adam Fravel, the man charged with the murder of his ex-girlfriend Madeline Kingsbury, is set to stand trial on October 7 at the Blue Earth County Justice Center. A recent court filing indicated that the change of venue was granted due to concerns over extensive pretrial publicity and the community's significant involvement in the case. The court believes that Blue Earth County is better positioned to ensure an impartial jury. Kingsbury, 26, vanished in March 2023 after leaving her two children at daycare. Following her disappearance, police labeled the case as "suspicious" and sought assistance from the public in search efforts. Fravel, who denied any involvement, sought custody of the children but was denied by a judge, leading to their placement with Kingsbury's parents. Tragically, Kingsbury's body was discovered two months later in a field near Mabel, prompting Fravel's arrest shortly thereafter.
