Whirlpool introduces self-drying washers to combat mold risks

This innovative system is designed to dry the washer's drum, door, and rubber seals after each wash cycle, significantly reducing the risk of mold and bacteria growth. Traditionally, users were advised to leave the washer door open to allow for air drying, which is a slow process. The FreshFlow Vent System requires users to initiate a 'Dry Drum' cycle, which utilizes a fan to expedite the drying process. The new washers, priced between $999 and $1,199, also include an antimicrobial treatment on the rubber seals to further inhibit bacterial growth. Additionally, a 'FanFresh' option is available, which periodically tumbles wet laundry to keep it fresh if left in the machine for an extended period. Whirlpool has also integrated AI technology into these machines, featuring an 'AI Intelligent Wash' option that automatically adjusts settings based on load size and fabric type.
