The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office has charged 33-year-old Juan Pablo Flores with attempted murder following a violent incident at a Metro train station in Pasadena. The alleged attack occurred around 5:30 a.m. on August 7 at the A (Gold) Line platform near North Allen Avenue, where Flores reportedly pushed a woman onto the train tracks. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Flores not only assaulted the woman but also dragged her across a cement divider into the carpool lane of the 210 Freeway. Fortunately, the victim managed to escape and return to the platform, where law enforcement apprehended Flores shortly after the incident. He now faces serious charges, including one count of attempted murder and one count of mayhem, with a potential maximum sentence of life in prison. District Attorney George Gascón condemned the attack, emphasizing that "no one should have to endure such brutality" and reaffirming the commitment to ensuring safety on public transit. Flores is currently being held in jail with a bail set at $2 million. The Pasadena Police Department reported that the victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. Gascón expressed his thoughts for the victim and her family, highlighting the importance of supporting those affected by such violent acts as she begins her recovery from this traumatic experience.
