On November 26, 2024, Bulgaria's President Rumen Radev visited the VinFast Hai Phong Manufacturing Complex in Vietnam, where he acknowledged the impressive quality and potential of VinFast’s electric vehicles for the European market. Accompanied by a high-ranking Bulgarian delegation, President Radev praised VinFast’s rapid success in becoming the leading automotive brand in Vietnam and recognized it as a symbol of the country's economic advancements. His tour included the body welding and electric vehicle assembly workshops, where he gained insights into the production processes. During the visit, President Radev emphasized Bulgaria's strengths in research, production, and development related to electric vehicles, notably components, sensors, and intelligent systems. He pointed out that Bulgaria has been a part of the supply chain for many established car manufacturers globally and highlighted the importance of creating local opportunities in the electric vehicle market. The President formally extended an invitation for VinFast to explore collaboration opportunities in Bulgaria, which could include selling cars in the Bulgarian market, manufacturing components, producing vehicles, or jointly developing software to meet European standards. This move aims to synergize VinFast's ambitions to expand globally with Bulgaria's industrial capabilities. VinFast’s Vice Chairman and CEO, Nguyen Viet Quang, assured President Radev of the company's commitment to seriously studying potential post-visit collaborations and investments in Bulgaria.
