Manchester United Negotiating for Midfielder Ugarte
- Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is seeking more players this summer.
- The club is in talks with Paris Saint-Germain to sign midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
- With four new players already brought in, Manchester United aims for more signings to strengthen the team.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has urged fans to remain patient as the club intensifies efforts to secure a fifth summer signing. The Red Devils have shown interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, but negotiations have stalled due to a significant disparity in the clubs' valuations of the Uruguayan international. Despite spending approximately £150 million this summer, United may enter the final week of the transfer window without further additions to their midfield. Ten Hag expressed satisfaction with the club's transfer activity thus far, having already brought in striker Joshua Zirkzee and defenders Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui. He emphasized the importance of patience in the transfer process, stating, “We keep working very hard. We will always try to make the best squad possible.” The manager remains optimistic about the potential for further improvements before the window closes. In addition to transfer news, United faces injury challenges ahead of their upcoming match against Brighton. Centre-back Victor Lindelof will miss the game due to a toe issue, with Ten Hag hopeful for a swift recovery. Other players, including Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Rasmus Hojlund, are also sidelined, while Jadon Sancho, who was left out of the squad for the season opener against Fulham, is now available for selection.
