Story

CALISTOGA, Calif. — Jayson Woodbridge, the founder of Hundred Acre Wine Group, has announced the acquisition of the renowned Kelly Fleming Winery, a 286-acre estate located in Simmons Canyon, Napa Valley. Woodbridge, who originally purchased the property in 1998, expressed his vision of creating a vineyard that would honor the unique volcanic terroir of the area. He praised the estate's beauty and highlighted the long-standing collaboration with Jim Barbour, Hundred Acre’s viticulturist, who has been instrumental in the vineyard's success since its inception. The Kelly Fleming estate features 12 acres of vineyards, a 5,000-square-foot natural rock cave, a commercial kitchen, and a classic stone residence. This acquisition expands Hundred Acre’s vineyard holdings, as the Fleming property adjoins its existing “Few and Far Between” vineyard. The combined vineyards will now total 17 acres, which will be cultivated to meet Hundred Acre’s high standards. Woodbridge announced that the first harvest from the former Kelly Fleming vineyards is set for this fall, with plans to designate the wines under the Hundred Acre label in the future. Woodbridge, who has established a reputation as a leading winemaker, has achieved remarkable success with his wines, earning 65 perfect scores of 100 points over the last 19 vintages. This acquisition marks a significant milestone for Hundred Acre Wine Group, further solidifying its position in the competitive Napa Valley wine market. The wines from the newly acquired estate will soon be available for purchase on the Hundred Acre website.
