Premier League to Enhance VAR with AI Technology Amid Ongoing Controversy

As the new top-flight season approaches, Howard Webb, the referees chief, has introduced a six-point plan aimed at improving the controversial Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system, which has faced criticism since its 2019 implementation. During annual summer visits to all 20 Premier League clubs, league officials expressed concern that ongoing public criticism of VAR is negatively impacting the sport.
