- The actions of disgruntled OnTrac employees led to community involvement and support.
On November 9, 2024, residents of Duxbury and Kingston discovered more than a dozen packages that had been discarded along streets and in nearby woods. It was reported that the packages were the result of disgruntled employees from the shipping company OnTrac, who allegedly quit their jobs and decided to dump the packages rather than deliver them. Kaelin Andrews, whose mother-in-law found roughly ten of the dumped packages, took initiative by using social media to reconnect the packages with their rightful owners. Contacting those affected led to several successful returns of items, including deliveries from The Farmer's Dog, Walmart, and Nordstrom. Kingston police are investigating the incident but have stated that no charges will be filed at this time. The situation highlights the impact of employee dissatisfaction on service delivery and the community's efforts to mitigate the consequences of such actions.
