By the third day, he resorted to sending his dog to find their way home and survived mainly on mushrooms and berries. After 30 days of enduring severe dysentery and exhaustion, Schock was found near the Chilliwack River after a desperate final cry for help. He was airlifted to a hospital and continued his recovery with family support. This harrowing experience has significantly affected his health and well-being.
