Ashley Park, the 33-year-old actress known for her role as Mindy Chen in Netflix's "Emily in Paris," has shared her recent health challenges that left her feeling exhausted during the latest season's production. In January, Park spent a week in intensive care due to a severe case of tonsillitis that escalated into critical septic shock. This health scare, coupled with her past battle with leukaemia at age 15, made returning to work particularly difficult as she struggled with low energy levels. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Park described the filming experience as "physically taxing in a way I hadn’t previously endured." She emphasized the importance of acknowledging her feelings and allowing herself to be proud of her efforts despite the challenges. "I’ll do the best I can in these stilettos and this latex skirt," she stated, reflecting on her determination to contribute to the show. Park expressed gratitude for her recovery, considering herself fortunate to have survived two severe health crises. She noted the improbability of her experiences, stating, "No one who’s 15 should have cancer, and no one who’s my age should have septic shock." Her positive outlook is evident as she shared her journey on social media, expressing thankfulness for her improved health. Additionally, Park highlighted the unwavering support of her boyfriend and co-star, Paul Forman, during her hospitalization. She publicly thanked him for being by her side through the ordeal, showcasing the emotional bond they share amidst the challenges faced.
