Dame Helen, 78, will portray Elizabeth Best, Sir Ben, 80, will play Ibrahim Arif, and Pierce, 70, will assume the role of Ron Ritchie. The final lead character, Joyce Meadowcroft, remains uncast, but Osman hinted that a popular fan choice is currently in negotiations. The film adaptation follows the success of Osman's book series, which includes three sequels published in recent years, with a fifth installment expected next year.
