Los Angeles police have released footage of a hit-and-run incident that left a motorist critically injured in West Hills over the weekend. The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, just north of Parthenia Street. According to investigators, a white Acura 4-door sedan traveling northbound sideswiped a gray 2022 BMW sedan, causing the BMW driver to lose control and crash into a pole. The driver of the Acura fled the scene without offering assistance. Paramedics quickly transported the injured BMW driver to a hospital, where they are being treated for severe injuries. In an effort to identify the suspect, investigators released dashcam video from a vehicle that was behind the collision. The footage captures the white Acura speeding past moments before the crash, attempting to maneuver between two cars on the two-lane road. The impact caused the BMW to veer off the road and down an embankment before colliding with the pole. To encourage public assistance, the city of Los Angeles has announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the hit-and-run driver. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact LAPD investigators at (818) 644-8114. The police hope that community involvement will help bring the responsible party to justice.
