Cisco and OECD Launch Digital Well-being Hub to Transform Lives
- Cisco and the OECD launched the Digital Well-being Hub to understand the relationship between digital technologies and individual well-being.
- The Hub will gather insights on mental health, life satisfaction, and cyber safety to inform inclusive digital policies.
- This initiative aims to provide a comprehensive view of digital well-being and address potential negative effects of technology.
On November 5, 2024, Cisco and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) introduced the Digital Well-being Hub. This initiative is designed to examine the comprehensive effect of digital technologies on individuals' well-being in a rapidly advancing technological landscape. The Hub seeks to holistically analyze various factors, such as mental health, digital skills, and social connections, by collecting insights directly from users. A significant goal of the initiative is to understand how digital transformation affects life satisfaction and community engagement. Findings from this research will be synthesized with existing OECD data to create a more detailed view of digital well-being by 2025, addressing issues like loneliness that may be exacerbated by technology use. This collaboration is part of Cisco's broader strategy to support inclusive communities and bolster economic resilience.
