BEIJING — Xiaomi has unveiled its first flip phone, the Mix Flip, which features the ability to print pictures instantly using a separately sold portable printer. Priced at 5,999 yuan ($825), preorders for the device began on Friday, with deliveries set to start on Tuesday. The accompanying portable printer, which costs 499 yuan ($68) and includes photo paper, is expected to be in high demand, although Xiaomi founder Lei Jun cautioned that supplies are limited. In addition to the Mix Flip, Xiaomi also introduced the Mix Fold 4, its latest folding phone, maintaining the previous model's price of 8,999 yuan. During the launch event, Lei highlighted the phone's capability for simultaneous translation, showcasing its dual-screen functionality. However, he did not focus on the device's artificial intelligence features, instead emphasizing the company's commitment to innovation in the smartphone sector. Xiaomi's foray into the electric vehicle market continues to gain momentum, with the SU7 sedan having surpassed 30,000 cumulative deliveries since its launch in March. Lei announced an ambitious target of delivering 100,000 vehicles by November, ahead of earlier projections. To meet rising demand, the company has increased factory shifts to 16 hours a day and plans to introduce voice control features for the SU7 in August. Looking to the future, Lei expressed aspirations for Xiaomi to develop the fastest four-door electric car for the Nurburgring race track within the next decade, with testing for a new race car version of the SU7 set to commence in October.
