Story

In an exciting development in the wine industry, Agustina Hobbs is set to release her own wine brand named ALH, focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Coombsville sub-AVA in Napa Valley, California. The preparation for this venture began when Agustina's father, Paul Hobbs, gave her the opportunity to craft a unique wine from special blocks within their Nathan Coombs Estate. After three years of dedication, including grape harvesting in autumn 2022 and 18 months of fermentation and aging, the wine is now ready to be unveiled. The official release date is August 1, 2025. Agustina describes her wine as a fresh, bright, and elegant take on Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This distinctive flavor profile can be attributed to the cooler climate of the Coombsville region, which allows for a lighter and more complex taste compared to typical Napa vintages. The unique geographical and climatic conditions, including the influence of fog from the Bay, ensure that the grapes carry a refreshing quality while still developing intensely complex flavors. Her father Paul, an esteemed winemaker himself, has taken a supportive yet hands-off approach in Agustina's winemaking journey. The selected grapes for the ALH wine are sustainably certified by Napa Green, handpicked, and then transported to Paul Hobbs winery in Sonoma County for fermentation with native yeast. Through careful crafting, Agustina aims to position her wine as a versatile option, pairing excellently with various cuisines. The wine will be priced at $75 per bottle and will be available in selected restaurants and wine shops, as well as online. Agustina expressed that the design of the bottle label was purposely created to intrigue buyers, featuring an embossed typography that reflects the brand's identity. As the release date approaches, enthusiasm builds around the launch of ALH, marking a significant step for Agustina as she embarks on her career in winemaking.
