The new street sign is prominently displayed outside Electric Lady Studios, a recording facility that Hendrix opened in 1970, shortly before his untimely death. This studio was notable for being the first artist-owned recording studio, and it has since hosted numerous iconic artists, including Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones, as well as contemporary stars like Taylor Swift.
