Hit-and-Run Crash Leads to Woman's Death

Authorities in Santa Clara County have confirmed that a woman found dead at her home in June succumbed to injuries sustained in a traffic collision. The incident occurred on June 15 around 7 a.m. on Oakland Road in North San Jose, where the woman was driving a 2012 gray Hyundai SUV. Preliminary investigations revealed that she struck a tree in the center median and subsequently fled the scene before police arrived. Witnesses reported seeing the woman leave the site of the crash, which involved no other vehicles. Following the collision, officers attempted to locate the vehicle's registered owner at her residence but were unsuccessful. Two days later, on June 17, police were called back to the home to investigate a death, where family members discovered the woman deceased. In light of the circumstances, an investigation was initiated to ascertain the connection between the traffic collision and her death. On Monday, the Santa Clara County Coroner's Office announced that the crash was deemed a "significant factor" in the cause of death.
