Vauxhall has introduced an innovative concept vehicle tailored for coffee enthusiasts, named the MOKKA COFFE-E. This electric vehicle (EV) is equipped with high-end coffee machines, storage for beans and pods, and a mini fridge, making it a dream for java lovers. The design includes a pull-out drawer containing professional barista tools such as scales, a Weiss Distribution Technique (WDT) tool, and an espresso tamper, ensuring a premium coffee experience on the go. The MOKKA COFFE-E features two coffee machines—one for ground coffee and another for pods—housed within a spacious 310-litre boot. A custom-made cabinet also includes a milk steamer, coffee grinder, and knock box, while a pull-out table provides a convenient surface for drink preparation. When not in use, the table can be tucked away, alongside storage for two British-made Fox umbrellas, reflecting the vehicle's practicality in varying weather conditions. This concept was inspired by a survey of 1,000 EV drivers, revealing that 59% purchase coffee while their vehicles charge. Vauxhall's collaboration with British artisan coffee roasters Cafeology has led to the creation of coffee blends that mirror the Mokka Electric's color palette. Vauxhall's James Taylor noted that three-quarters of EV drivers plan their trips around coffee stops, highlighting the vehicle's role in enhancing the charging experience. The survey also indicated that EV drivers enjoy an average of three coffees weekly during charging breaks, often taking leisurely 51-minute pauses to savor their drinks, underscoring the growing trend of integrating coffee culture with electric vehicle usage.
