- Colleges, centers, and hostels are enforcing rules to prevent ragging.
- Display of anti-ragging posters at strategic locations across campuses.
Delhi University (DU) has announced a series of new measures aimed at combating ragging, effective from August 1 to August 10. The university will establish two Joint Control Rooms—one located in the North Campus and the other in the South Campus—to facilitate reporting and monitoring of ragging incidents. Colleges, centers, and hostels are mandated to limit outsider access and display anti-ragging regulations prominently. Additionally, anti-ragging posters in both English and Hindi have been strategically placed throughout the campuses. As part of the initiative, all students, including hostel residents, along with their parents or guardians, are required to submit an anti-ragging undertaking during the admission process. DU has also urged all colleges, faculties, and hostels to form anti-ragging or disciplinary committees, as well as vigilance squads, utilizing volunteers from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) to help monitor potential ragging activities. In a bid to enhance safety, Delhi University has requested the deployment of police pickets outside every college, with a particular focus on women's colleges. The Delhi Police has committed to stationing women officers in plain clothes both within the university and at each college to address any incidents of ragging or eve teasing promptly. Furthermore, students seeking paying guest accommodations are advised to ensure that their lodgings are verified by local police, as these accommodations will be regularly monitored for the safety of student residents.
