Halle Berry not asked for Deadpool cameo

Halle Berry has stated that she was “never asked” by Ryan Reynolds to return as Storm in the recently released Deadpool & Wolverine movie. In a recent interview, Berry clarified that while she was approached by Reynolds's wife, Blake Lively, regarding a potential cameo, she did not receive any direct communication from Reynolds himself. The Independent has reached out to both Lively and Reynolds for further comments on the matter. Berry, who portrayed Storm in four X-Men films from 2000 to 2014, noted that her character was notably absent from the new film, which features several original X-Men characters making appearances. Alongside Berry, Patrick Stewart’s Charles Xavier was also not included, despite the film's director, Shawn Levy, stating that Stewart's character was never considered for a return during the film's development. The new film sees Reynolds reprising his role as Wade Wilson/Deadpool, with Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine, despite the character's demise in 2017's Logan. The plot revolves around the superheroes teaming up to confront a threat to their universe, but the film has received mixed reviews from critics. While some reviews have labeled the film as “tedious and annoying,” others argue it demonstrates the enduring appeal of the Marvel franchise. The Independent’s critic, Louis Chilton, expressed disappointment, suggesting that the film prioritizes brand maintenance over storytelling, describing it as lacking the essence of a traditional blockbuster.
