Story

On April 18, 2025, Information Services Group (ISG), a global advisory firm based in the U.S., announced the initiation of a research study aimed at evaluating the Workday ecosystem providers in the U.S., Europe, and APAC regions. This research will assess the strengths and market positioning of partners that deliver services within the Workday human capital management (HCM) ecosystem. The study is expected to culminate in a series of reports called the Workday Ecosystem, which will be made available in September 2025. The impetus for the study arises from the rapidly changing landscape of digital human capital management, where Workday's Spring 2025 release introduces over 350 new features—including advances in AI for HR and finance. This transformative approach is projected to significantly enhance the user experience and drive digital HCM service delivery. As highlighted by Aman Munglani, director and principal analyst at ISG, Workday has secured over 40 percent of the cloud HCM market, reflecting its strong commitment to innovation. In the development of the reports, ISG has engaged with over 70 ecosystem providers through comprehensive surveys that evaluate their service capabilities. The findings will be categorized into four distinct quadrants, covering Transformation Services, Performance and Optimization Services, and Innovation on Workday. Each quadrant will outline specific criteria for assessing the providers, such as their ability to facilitate digital transformations tailored to industry challenges. Furthermore, the research was structured to incorporate feedback from participants who may not yet be active Workday ecosystem providers. By involving more companies in the study and providing insights from the outcomes, ISG aims to offer a comprehensive view of the HCM service landscape, ultimately guiding enterprises in their sourcing decisions and partnership strategies. This research not only underscores the importance of technological advancement in human resources but also reveals the growing competitive landscape among service providers in the field.
