Is Goodyear's new rehabilitation facility a lifeline or a misstep?

In Goodyear, Arizona, a significant milestone was reached on December 12, 2024, as PMB and Abrazo Health held a steel topping-out ceremony for the Abrazo Health Litchfield Medical Building. This facility will be a unique combination of outpatient medical services and inpatient rehabilitation services, marking the first of its kind in the area. The 46,000 square-foot building is strategically located in the Palm Valley Shopping center, adjacent to various medical campus services and retail amenities, making it accessible to the community. Construction is projected to finish in 2025, offering key services such as internal medicine, cardiology, and hospitalist programs. The event included traditional practices like placing an evergreen tree and a flag atop the structure, symbolizing completion of the framework and honoring the efforts of the construction team. The collaboration involved several partners, including the Devenney Group as the architect, Haydon serving as the general contractor, and Siemens as the financing partner. Currently, space within the building has been allocated for various tenants, with Abrazo Health leasing 27,000 square feet and others filling the remainder with DMcare and Arizona Desert ENT Specialists among them. There remains an additional 6,500 square feet on the first floor available for lease, showcasing a key opportunity for further medical providers in the community. Jake Dinnen, EVP and Partner of PMB, commented on the topping-out milestone, highlighting the combined efforts of the project team and the potential positive impact this facility will bring to the west valley region. The building will not only meet the outpatient medical needs of the community but will also provide essential inpatient rehabilitation services. As the project moves toward completion, local leaders and stakeholders express excitement about the health benefits this center will provide.
