Planned Parenthood to Close Four Clinics in New York

Planned Parenthood of Greater New York (PPGNY) has announced the proposed closure of facilities in Goshen, Amsterdam, Cobleskill, and Staten Island, citing "compounding financial and political challenges." In a shift from outsourcing anesthesiology services, PPGNY will now rely on in-house medical staff for pain management at its Manhattan clinic. This change comes alongside a temporary pause on deep sedation services, which are typically used for late-term abortions. As a result of these adjustments, the Manhattan location will no longer be able to perform abortions beyond 20 weeks of gestation. Patients requiring late-term abortions or deep sedation will be referred to affiliated medical partners.
