First Nordic Metals starts controversial drilling program in Sweden's Gold Line Belt

In northern Sweden, First Nordic Metals Corp. has launched a top-of-bedrock drilling initiative at its Nippas target within the Storjuktan project area of the Gold Line Belt. Announced on December 16, 2024, this program, known as base-of-till drilling, aims to explore a significant gold and pathfinder element glacial till anomaly measuring over 5 kilometers long and 250 meters wide. The anomaly, located in a geological setting conducive to large orogenic gold deposits, has been identified based on the company's analysis of recent UAV magnetic geophysical data. Taj Singh, the CEO of First Nordic Metals, emphasized that this drilling program is set to enhance their capabilities for diamond drilling scheduled in 2025. The efficient BoT drilling technique allows the company to gather high-quality geological data and assess the underlying bedrock lithologies, which could potentially host mineral deposits. The company is optimistic as previous drilling campaigns had not concentrated properly on their latest discoveries. Additionally, the firm has secured financing for aggressive drilling operations over multiple extensive targets throughout the Gold Line by 2025. They are currently focusing on bedrock sources related to mineralization linked to a historic glacial till anomaly involving gold, arsenic, copper, and zinc. This proactive approach underscores First Nordic Metals' commitment to developing its assets and enhancing its exploration capabilities in the increasingly competitive mining sector of northern Sweden.
