PARIS – The French railway company SNCF announced on Saturday that it has made significant strides in restoring high-speed train services following acts of sabotage that disrupted three major lines just before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on the Seine River. SNCF reported that its teams worked tirelessly through challenging weather conditions to improve TGV traffic from various regions to Paris. By Saturday morning, normal service had resumed on the Eastern high-speed line, while the North, Brittany, and South-West lines were still experiencing delays. SNCF indicated that, on average, seven out of ten trains on these lines would run with delays ranging from one to two hours. Although disruptions are expected to continue on the North axis into Sunday, improvements are anticipated for the Atlantic axis as the weekend progresses.
