Nokia powers major IXPs for enhanced scale and reliability
- Nokia collaborates with over 20 IXPs, including six of the largest globally, to enhance networking infrastructure.
- These IXPs collectively manage nearly 45 Tbps of traffic during peak times, driven by the demands of the digital economy.
- Nokia's advanced technology solutions support IXPs in efficiently managing increasing traffic, reinforcing its leadership in the market.
In September 2024, Nokia reaffirmed its leadership in the global Internet Exchange market by collaborating with over 20 Internet Exchange Providers (IXPs), including six of the largest worldwide. These IXPs, which serve more than 5,000 member organizations, collectively handle nearly 45 Tbps of traffic during peak times. The demand for localized data exchange is driven by the rapid growth of the digital economy, which necessitates low-latency and high-bandwidth solutions. Nokia's advanced networking infrastructure, including its 800GE technology and anti-DDoS solutions, has been pivotal in addressing the increasing traffic demands while ensuring energy efficiency. The company has also played a significant role in standardizing Ethernet Virtual Private Networks (EVPNs), enhancing IXPs' ability to manage traffic effectively. As a result, Nokia has secured contracts with 23 IXPs, solidifying its position as a leading provider of networking solutions for critical organizations worldwide.
