Hasselt: AEW, Detec Services, and Vandenbriele unite for sustainability

A new sustainability company has been established in Hasselt through the merger of AEW, Detec Services, and Vandenbriele, focusing on reducing energy consumption by 10-30%. General Manager Sophie Hayen is spearheading the initiative, which aims to leverage the combined expertise of the three companies in electrical and High Voltage Low Current (HVLC) installations. This collaboration is designed to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability across various sectors. The company plans to assist commercial building owners in minimizing CO2 emissions and improving eco-friendliness. By utilizing advanced software, they will assess building systems and structures to identify potential sustainability improvements. Custom plans will be developed for clients, incorporating upgrades such as electric heating, energy-efficient lighting, roof insulation, and solar panel installations. Currently, the new company is engaged with diverse clients, including schools, sports centers, cultural centers, and local businesses, such as the police and Claes Retail Group. Hayen emphasizes the importance of a multidisciplinary approach, allowing clients to have a single point of contact for complex energy management issues. This strategy aims to streamline the process and enhance customer satisfaction. To strengthen their local presence in regions like Antwerp, East Flanders, West Flanders, and Limburg, the company intends to hire 50 technicians. This expansion will enable them to provide comprehensive support in energy management, integrating electrical and heating systems while utilizing smart technologies for optimal energy use.
