Arrests Made in Connection with Johnny Wactor's Shooting Death

Arrests have been made in the investigation of the May shooting death of former "General Hospital" actor Johnny Wactor, according to law enforcement officials speaking to CBS Los Angeles. While the exact number of arrests remains undisclosed, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is leading the ongoing investigation. This development follows a recent news conference where Wactor's family and friends appealed to the public for assistance in identifying those responsible for his death. Wactor, 37, was fatally shot on May 25 in downtown Los Angeles after finishing his bartending shift. He was targeted by suspects attempting to steal his catalytic converter as he walked to his car at the intersection of Hope Street and Pico Boulevard. In an effort to gather more information, LAPD detectives had previously released security images of three suspects and a vehicle linked to the case, reigniting public interest and concern. Frustration had been mounting among Wactor's loved ones and the community due to the lack of progress in solving the case. In June, a friend of Wactor, Micah Parker, organized a march in downtown Los Angeles to raise awareness about the violence that led to Wactor's death. The march aimed to encourage city leaders to acknowledge the crime problem in Los Angeles and work towards creating safer streets. At a recent news conference, Wactor's mother, Scarlett Wactor, made an emotional plea for anyone with information to come forward. "I'm begging you, please call, please give them any information you know," she urged, highlighting the ongoing need for community support in solving her son's murder.
