Sweden has officially concluded its investigation into an altercation involving Dutch contestant Joost Klein, who was expelled from the Eurovision Song Contest just hours before the final in May. The Swedish Prosecution Authority stated that the inquiry stemmed from a complaint made by a female member of the production crew, leading to Klein's disqualification, which marked an unprecedented event in the contest's 68-year history. The investigation revealed that Klein had made a movement that inadvertently struck the woman’s film camera. Senior prosecutor Fredrik Jönsson noted that the incident unfolded quickly and was perceived differently by witnesses. He emphasized that there was insufficient evidence to prove that Klein intended to cause serious fear or harm, although he did not specifically name the artist in his statement. Klein, a 26-year-old singer and rapper, was a fan favorite with his song “Europapa,” which celebrates diversity and pays tribute to his late parents.
