Four injured in mass shooting on Chicago's South Side

A 32-year-old was shot twice in the groin, while a 40-year-old suffered an abdominal injury. Both of these individuals were quickly taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in fair condition. As the police further investigated, they encountered two more men who also bore gunshot wounds. It appeared that these individuals had been part of the initial exchange of gunfire, leading them to be taken into police custody. A 30-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to the elbow, while a 33-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the face but declined any medical treatment. The ongoing investigation has led Grand Central Area detectives to believe that an exchange of gunfire had occurred among the four men involved. However, as the early morning hours passed, it was still unclear what events had transpired leading up to the shooting, with police conducting searches for evidence in the area, including around a silver sedan.
