New shops and restaurants opening at Downtown Disney this holiday season

The Downtown Disney District in Southern California is set to welcome several new shops and restaurants this holiday season, enhancing the shopping and dining experience just outside Disneyland. Among the new additions are the Avengers Reserve, which will offer a variety of Marvel-themed merchandise, and the D-Lander Shop, featuring trendy Disney apparel and accessories. Additionally, the candy shop Marceline's Confectionery is being transformed into the Disney Wonderful World of Sweets, allowing guests to watch candy being made in an exhibition kitchen. Looking ahead to 2025 and beyond, the Downtown Disney District will introduce a range of new dining options. Porto's Bakery, known for its Cuban pastries, will be a highlight, alongside Parkside Market, which will house multiple dining concepts including Seoul Sister, a fast-casual Korean eatery, and GG's Chicken Shop, a Michelin-starred fried chicken restaurant. Chef Joe Isidori will also open two new restaurants, one a full-service steakhouse and the other a barbeque spot, both replacing the former Tortilla Jo's. Earl of Sandwich will undergo significant renovations, expanding into a two-story venue that will feature a quick-service sandwich shop and a gastropub. The current sandwich shop will close to facilitate the construction of Porto's Bakery, indicating a shift towards more diverse dining experiences in the area. These developments reflect Disneyland Resort's ongoing investment in the Downtown Disney District, aiming to create innovative guest experiences through a blend of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, all while maintaining a relaxed atmosphere compared to the theme parks.
