Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh – Chief Minister Mohan Yadav marked the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on Wednesday, describing the partition of India as one of the most tragic events of the 20th century. Speaking at a commemorative event, Yadav emphasized the importance of learning from history to foster national growth. He drew parallels with the Israeli struggle for homeland, noting that it took them 2,000 years to reclaim their nation, a testament to their patriotism and resilience. Yadav criticized the British colonial strategy of "divide and rule," which he claimed exacerbated tensions between Hindus and Muslims, particularly after the 1857 uprising. He argued that the Indian National Congress's shift in politics ultimately facilitated the Muslim League's divisive agenda, leading to the partition. He lamented the loss of generations during this tumultuous period and urged citizens to remember the sacrifices made for independence. In conjunction with the remembrance, Yadav participated in a Tiranga Yatra as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, aimed at instilling patriotism ahead of Independence Day. He commended MLA Rameshwar Sharma for organizing the event and reiterated the need to ensure that such a division never occurs again. Yadav held the Congress party accountable for the partition, claiming their assurances of unity were ultimately false.
