Warren, Mich. – In a significant police operation on Monday morning, authorities arrested five individuals, including four teenagers, in connection with an attempted theft of vehicles valued at approximately $500,000. The incident unfolded around 6:35 a.m. at Ground Effects Automotive on Concept Drive, where officers responded to reports of suspicious activity involving a group near new Dodge vehicles. Upon arrival, police observed two Dodge Durangos attempting to breach a security gate. When their efforts failed, the suspects abandoned the vehicles and fled the scene in various directions. Law enforcement quickly apprehended five suspects from Detroit, comprising a 24-year-old and four teens aged 16 and 17. One additional suspect remains at large. The investigation revealed that the group had targeted six Dodge Durangos, including five high-performance SRT models. Fortunately, all vehicles involved in the attempted theft were recovered at the scene, preventing any loss to the dealership.
