Story

In Madhya Pradesh, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has initiated a case against the former deputy engineer Chakresh Sharma and superintendent engineer Salil Garg for their involvement in tender process irregularities. The tender was related to construction projects worth Rs 95.31 lakh, called in 2021 at multiple locations, including Rajgarh and Sehore. Allegations arose when Bharat Gupta, a bidder, claimed that even though he submitted the required documents on time, his papers were excluded from the selection process. Gupta asserted that the documents arrived at the office at 5.14 pm on the submission deadline of February 2, 2021, but were not considered valid. The investigation revealed that the tender process was improperly carried out, excluding the firm Gupta represented. Following these findings, the EOW registered a case against Sharma and Garg, indicating the seriousness of the irregularities involved in the case. This situation highlights potential corruption within the tendering system, emphasizing the importance of fair practices in public procurement.
