Kellyanne Conway Registers as Foreign Agent for Ukrainian Billionaire

Former Trump administration official Kellyanne Conway has officially registered as a foreign agent, representing the foundation of Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk. This includes efforts to encourage attendance at the upcoming Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting in Kyiv, scheduled for September 13-14, 2024. Notably, this is the same conference where Donald Trump virtually spoke in 2015, following a $150,000 donation from Pinchuk to Trump's charitable organization. Conway's contract stipulates a payment of $50,000 per month for her services, which will last from July 25, 2024, to November 14, 2024, with an option for extension. Her responsibilities include raising awareness among U.S. decision-makers about Ukraine's significance in maintaining a rules-based order and the ongoing conflict with Russia. The disclosure highlights the importance of Conway's engagement in promoting Ukraine's fight for freedom and democratic principles. The $150,000 donation from Pinchuk to Trump's foundation has been a point of scrutiny, particularly during the investigations led by special counsel Robert Mueller. In 2018, the Trump Organization provided documents related to this donation after being subpoenaed. Michael Cohen, Trump's former attorney, testified that the donation was linked to Trump's speaking engagement at the YES conference, where he praised Pinchuk and criticized then-President Obama’s support for Ukraine. Pinchuk, a significant donor to both the Trump and Clinton foundations, has sought to strengthen ties between Ukraine and the West, emphasizing the importance of international support for Ukraine amid its ongoing challenges.
