Mississippi welcomes its first Buc-ee's travel center

The state of Mississippi has recently celebrated the opening of its inaugural Buc-ee's travel center, marking a significant milestone for the popular Texas-based convenience store chain. Located at 8245 Firetower Road in Harrison County, the facility opened its doors to the public at 6 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2025. Angel Coleman from Saucier, one of the early arrivals, was reported to have been in line since 10 p.m. the previous night. Buc-ee's is renowned for its extravagant design and unique features, boasting an impressive 74,000 square feet of space, which includes 120 fuel pumps and 24 electric vehicle charging stations. This proudly stands out as one of the largest convenience stores in the United States. MHP Master Sergeant Cal Robertson emphasized the importance of safety during the event, urging drivers not to stop in travel lanes if traffic begins to back up but to instead pull over onto the shoulder.
