Testing for the Aston Martin Valhalla is currently taking place in the United Kingdom and at the IDIADA Spanish proving ground. This plug-in hybrid supercar is a significant move for Aston Martin as it replaces the Valkyrie hypercar. Production is set to begin in the second quarter of 2025, with only 999 units planned for manufacture. Featuring a unique flat-plane crank 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with three electric motors, the Valhalla produces a staggering output of 1,064 bhp. Coupled with advanced aerodynamics and a dry-dump design, this vehicle showcases the innovation expected of modern supercars. The Valhalla will include an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with one electric motor, ensuring dynamic performance and efficiency. Additionally, the car achieves speeds of 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 217 mph, producing over 600 kg of downforce at 150 mph. Inside, the Valhalla is equipped with the latest technology, including Apple CarPlay, and offers a modern dual-display interface for drivers. Simon Newton, the Director of Vehicle Performance and Attributes, emphasized the car's exceptional dynamics during development. This strategic transition to hybrid technology reflects Aston Martin's commitment to enhance performance without compromising sustainability. The Valkyrie, while discontinued, continues to hold speed records, proving that Aston Martin remains a major player in the supercar market.
