- The company has confirmed a 5,000 m diamond drilling plan for January 2025.
- Miata's strategic acquisition efforts have significantly expanded its gold project portfolio in Suriname.
In Suriname, on December 16, 2024, Miata Metals Corp. provided an operational update regarding its forthcoming drill program at the Sela Creek Gold Project. The company is simultaneously summarizing its achievements throughout 2024, having established a significant gold project portfolio totaling over 400 km² in the Guiana Shield area. To facilitate access to the project site amid low water levels in the Tapanahony River, Miata is undertaking upgrades to the transportation road, which will enable the movement of drilling equipment directly to Sela Creek. During 2024, Miata Metals focused on various exploration projects in Suriname, selecting Sela Creek and Nassau based on extensive artisanal gold mining activity observed over the previous decade. Following the acquisition of these projects, the team developed a detailed geological model, relying on historical data, insights from artisanal mining, and new exploration initiatives, including geochemical sampling and LiDAR surveys. With preparations for the drill camp underway, the company is targeted for initial drilling activities to start in January 2025. Notably, as part of its strategic goals, Miata Metals increased its stake in the Sela Creek Gold Project to 100% in August 2024. The project has shown promising signs with the discovery of new gold zones thanks to the ongoing artisanal mining efforts. Recent grab sampling returned assays as high as 133.25 g/t Au, indicating significant mineralization potential for future drilling activity. The project includes various targets that remain untested by drilling, notably the Stranger Pit and Puma target. To further enhance investor engagement, the company announced a 5,000-meter phase 1 diamond drilling program aimed at exploring significant mineralization zones identified in preliminary studies. The company is committed to maximizing development at its Suriname properties and maintaining transparency with its stakeholders. Through careful planning and resource allocation, Miata Metals is positioning itself for a successful drilling campaign in the upcoming year.
