Klondike Gold Corp. strikes gold with new drill results

Highlights
  • Klondike Gold Corp. conducted a drill campaign in 2024 resulting in significant gold-bearing quartz vein zones.
  • Drilling on both sides of the Eldorado Fault demonstrated substantial gold mineralization, particularly notable results from the west side.
  • These findings bolster the Company's resource estimates and enhance further exploration prospects in the Klondike District.
Story

In Canada, specifically in the Dawson mining district, Klondike Gold Corp. revealed six exploration drill hole results on November 28, 2024. These results tested for gold potential on both sides of the Eldorado Fault during the 2024 drilling campaign. The company has reported significant gold mineralization discovered since 2015 at various sites, including the Stander Zone and Nugget Showing on the east side of the fault. This year marked a significant advancement with the tracing of the Eldorado Fault and identifying its association with substantial gold mineralization through multiple geological techniques over 5 kilometers. The drilling on the west side of the Eldorado Fault targeted untested areas where no prior mineralization had been documented. Drilling results indicated that all three holes intersected notable gold-bearing quartz vein zones, signifying a promising discovery in a previously unexplored area. The EC24-546 drill hole returned a remarkable average of 8.25 g/t Au over a 1.0-meter section, while the EC24-547 hole discovered additional gold-bearing quartz veins at depths of 244.0 to 250.5 meters downhole. This should critically enhance the Company’s resource evaluation and further exploration initiatives. Furthermore, on the east side of the Eldorado Fault, it was reported that two of the three additional holes corroborated the extension of previously identified gold mineralization linked to the Gay Gulch and DJ Showings. The 2024 drilling campaign highlights substantial advancements in understanding the geological framework, specifically the Eldorado Fault's role as a conduit for gold mineralization. The Company has also achieved the first-ever Mineral Resource Estimate in the Klondike District, identifying a total of 469,000 Indicated and 112,000 Inferred gold ounces. This milestone is a significant development for Klondike Gold Corp., lifting expectations for future mining operations and resource exploration strategies. As the Company continues its drilling efforts, it is poised to better define the gold potential of the Klondike District and may also influence the local economy as exploration and production ramp up in the region.
