Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh – A delegation from Merkaba ECDS, a joint venture between South Korea and India, met with Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday to discuss a significant investment proposal. The delegation outlined plans to invest approximately Rs 2000 crores across 20 projects in the initial phase, which is expected to create over 25,000 job opportunities in the region. The proposed sectors for investment include sewage and pipe manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, information technology, carbon fiber production, battery construction, electronic components, nano fiber frames, big data solutions, and drone technology. The meeting was attended by key officials, including Principal Secretary for Industry Policy and Investment Promotion, Raghvendra Singh, along with Merkaba representatives Gail Khang, Junsang Lee, and Wooseok Chang. The discussions highlighted the potential for economic growth and job creation in Madhya Pradesh through these diverse investments. In a related development, the Higher Education Department of Madhya Pradesh has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Delhi to introduce Artificial Intelligence courses at the Pradham Mantri College of Excellence. This initiative aims to enhance educational offerings and better prepare students for the job market. The MoU will also extend AI courses to autonomous colleges, marking a shift from traditional degree programs to a focus on employability. Officials from the Higher Education Department emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating that it will not only provide degrees but also equip students with the skills necessary for future employment in the growing field of artificial intelligence.
