Aether Fuels, a climate technology company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with JetBlue, marking a significant step in the sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) sector. This partnership allows Aether to supply JetBlue with SAF once commercial production commences. The collaboration builds on an existing relationship initiated through investments from JetBlue Ventures in Aether's financing rounds. Aether's innovative technology, Aether Aurora™, utilizes various waste carbon feedstocks, which do not interfere with food supply chains, to produce sustainable liquid fuels. This flexibility in feedstock selection is crucial for large-scale deployment and addresses supply limitations faced by other SAF production methods. The technology enhances the Fischer-Tropsch process, incorporating advancements in catalysts, reactors, and process flow schemes to efficiently convert waste carbon streams into jet fuel. The MOU represents Aether's first venture into the SAF market and is expected to accelerate the commercial rollout of Aether Aurora technology. The initiative is supported by eight years of development led by GTI Energy and aims to produce SAF and other sustainable fuels in collaboration with strategic partners in the U.S. and Southeast Asia.
