The Little India Shopkeepers & Heritage Association (LiSHA) has announced the commencement of its annual Deepavali Light-Up in Little India, set to begin on September 14. This year's theme emphasizes the importance of family bonds, heritage, and togetherness, reflecting the spirit of the festive season. The light-up will be open to the public from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Birch Road, creating a vibrant atmosphere for visitors. Deepavali, also known as Diwali, will be celebrated from October 31 to November 1, with various programs planned throughout September and October to engage the community. These include sessions on specific dates, where participants can enjoy activities while embracing sustainability by opting for paperless and plastic-free initiatives. Additionally, a treasure hunt event is scheduled for September 8 and October 12, encouraging families to participate together. This event is designed for participants aged 12 and above, with parental consent required for those under 18. The treasure hunt aims to foster community spirit and excitement leading up to the festival. The Deepavali Festival Village will also be open from September 14 to October 30, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere. With activities running daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, the village will serve as a hub for cultural exchange and celebration, culminating in the grand festivities of Deepavali.
