Scottish dog Rayne found after 17 days of wandering

In Scotland, a German Shepherd named Rayne went missing after escaping from kennels while her family was on holiday. Carrie Kemp, Rayne's owner, had just arrived in Ibiza when she received the distressing news on October 6. Concerned for her pet, she immediately returned home and joined the search efforts, which included hundreds of volunteers using advanced technology such as infrared drones and thermal scopes to find the dog. Over 17 days, Carrie camped or stayed in local B&Bs while coordinating the search and awaiting sightings. The vast search area made it difficult to locate Rayne, who consistently moved away from the sighted locations. Finally, on the night volunteers set traps in the Comrie area, they successfully captured Rayne. Carrie expressed her overwhelming joy and relief upon learning her dog had been found, sharing that locals had actively participated in the search every day. Although Rayne returned home emaciated and with various health issues, she was happily reunited with her family and is now recovering. The use of high-tech equipment was crucial in aiding the volunteers and providing insights into the dog's movements, significantly improving search efficiency.
