PlayStation 5 users have the opportunity to participate in a limited-time open beta for the highly anticipated game 'Concord' this weekend. Running until Sunday, players can team up with friends to explore the game’s 16 unique characters, known as Freegunners, in an engaging online shooter experience. The beta features five maps and four game modes, including the newly introduced Bone Mines and Area Control, allowing players to engage in diverse combat scenarios. A PlayStation spokesperson highlighted the excitement of the Bone Mines map, where players will navigate through the remains of massive creatures in a blend of close-quarters and mid-range combat. The Area Control mode challenges teams to capture and hold multiple points on the map, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay. Participants in the beta will also have the chance to earn exclusive rewards, such as the Li’l Frog Weapon Charm and Star Flare Icon, showcasing their early involvement in the game. To access the beta, players must either pre-order one of the game’s editions or hold a PlayStation Plus membership. 'Concord', a 5v5 character-driven multiplayer shooter set in a vibrant sci-fi universe, was first revealed in May. Game Director Ryan Ellis described it as a tribute to aspirational sci-fi adventures, drawing inspiration from various media to create thrilling multiplayer experiences. The full version of 'Concord' is set to launch on August 23, priced at £34.99, promising an exciting addition to the multiplayer gaming landscape.
