This initiative, in collaboration with the Texas Department of Agriculture and the Texas Whiskey Association, aims to highlight the grain-to-glass distilleries across Texas. The podcast, hosted by Mando Rayo, will feature six episodes released weekly, showcasing various distilleries such as Garrison Brothers and Iron Root, each with unique stories tied to Texas agriculture. The event provided attendees with an exclusive first listen to the podcast, followed by a Q&A session with the creators and distillers. Guests were also able to sample whiskeys from the featured distilleries, experiencing the authentic flavors of Texas. The Texas Whiskey Hour, which will be a central feature at the GO TEXAN Pavilion during the fair, aims to further engage visitors by allowing them to taste and learn about local spirits. Brandon Choate, president of the Texas Whiskey Association, expressed pride in partnering with the Texas Department of Agriculture to showcase the dedication of local distillers. The podcast serves as an extension of the Texas Whiskey Hour, providing a deeper understanding of the craft and traditions behind Texas whiskey. This initiative not only promotes Texas distilleries but also emphasizes the connection between agriculture and the whiskey industry, inviting both enthusiasts and newcomers to explore the rich heritage of Texas spirits.
