Mumbai launches MyBMC app for civic oversight on October 1
- The MyBMC app is designed to assist civic authorities in monitoring operations related to maintenance and waste management.
- Employees can log their daily tasks and upload images to document their work, enhancing transparency.
- The app aims to improve the efficiency and reliability of civic operations, with a full rollout scheduled for October 1.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has developed the MyBMC app to enhance the oversight of civic operations, particularly in maintenance, solid waste management, and building and factory departments. Currently in a trial phase, the app is set to be fully operational for relevant staff starting October 1. It allows employees to log daily tasks and upload photographs to document their work, thereby increasing transparency and accountability in civic operations. Assistant Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Additional Commissioners, and the Municipal Commissioner can access this information through a web application and dashboard, facilitating better management of ongoing and completed tasks. The app is initially available on Android, with plans for an iOS version in the near future. This initiative aims to improve the efficiency of civic services and ensure that the public can trust the management of these essential operations.
