The series concluded in 2019, with its finale widely criticized by fans and critics alike. Harington, who is now starring in the new season of Industry, expressed his journey towards accepting the show's conclusion, stating, “My process since finishing that show is learning to be proud of what we did.” Harington elaborated on the challenges faced during the final season, suggesting that the fatigue of the team contributed to the perception that the story felt rushed. He admitted, “I think if there was any fault with the end of Thrones, it is that we were all so f***ing tired.” Despite acknowledging the criticisms, he emphasized that there may not have been a viable alternative, as he personally felt he could not continue for another season. In the same interview, Harington discussed a potential spin-off centered on his character, revealing that he initially declined the offer from HBO.
