HONG KONG SAR is currently hosting the 4th TERA-Award Smart Energy Innovation Competition, organized by The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited, also known as Towngas, and empowered by Full Vision Capital. This year marks a significant growth in participation, surpassing previous editions with a record 62 countries and regions involved. The deadline for submissions is set for 9 April 2025, emphasizing an urgent call for innovative projects focused on renewable energy, energy storage, and smart city solutions. The competition has already received an impressive 417 applications, demonstrating a surge in global commitment to energy innovation. Among these submissions, renewable energy projects take the lead with 112 entries, followed closely by smart city solutions and intelligent energy systems. This interest underscores a global shift towards sustainable infrastructure and advanced energy management, tackling the pressing energy and climate challenges faced worldwide. Mr. Alan Chan Ying-lung, who serves as the Executive Chairman of the TERA-Award Organising Committee, stated that the increase in participation enhances the competition's status as a truly international platform for energy solutions. The TERA-Award has historically helped startups like i2Cool and Luquos Energy scale their technologies and secure funding, which has been vital for their progress and industrialization.
