Maduro Accuses Zionism of Plotting Against His Regime

The Venezuelan opposition has leveled serious accusations against President Nicolás Maduro, claiming he is attempting to manipulate the results of what they describe as a sham election. The National Electoral Council (CNE) has faced criticism for its refusal to release vote tallies that could substantiate Maduro's claimed victory. In response to widespread protests and international condemnation, Maduro has characterized these actions as part of a coup attempt orchestrated by the United States and what he refers to as “international Zionism.” During a recent press conference, Maduro asserted that extremist right-wing factions, allegedly backed by global Zionist interests, are behind the unrest. He framed the situation as a struggle for Venezuela's independence and dignity, expressing solidarity with Palestine and condemning violence against Gaza. Maduro's rhetoric has included accusations against prominent figures, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whom he claims is involved in a conspiracy to undermine his government. In addition to Musk, Maduro has targeted several regional leaders, including Argentina’s Javier Milei and former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, accusing them of plotting against his socialist regime. The Maduro administration has also alleged that North Macedonia attempted to hack into Venezuela’s electoral system, a claim dismissed by North Macedonia’s Digital Society Minister due to a lack of evidence. Maduro has intensified his rhetoric, describing the political landscape as a spiritual battle between good and evil, and labeling his opponents as part of a “satanic cult” aligned with U.S. interests. His comments reflect a broader narrative of resistance against perceived external threats to his government.
