Helium One global achieves major gas flow at Jackson-27 drill site

Highlights
  • Helium One Global has reported a flow rate of over 320 Mcfd at its Jackson-27 well after reaching total depth.
  • The well's projected stabilized flow rates could reach between 350 Mcfd and 450 Mcfd, possibly maximizing at 550 Mcfd.
  • The successful results at Jackson-27 signify a critical advancement in helium exploration, addressing market supply challenges.
Story

In Tanzania, Helium One Global Ltd has reported promising results from its Jackson-27 well, which reached a total depth of 1,183 feet within the Upper Lyons Formation. The drilling encountered the Lyons Sandstone Formation at 1,123 feet and demonstrated a significant natural flow rate of approximately 320 thousand cubic feet per day (Mcfd) shortly after drilling. This flow rate is considerably higher than that of the previously tested State-16 well, which yielded a sustained flow rate of only 150 Mcfd. The data obtained from the intense testing and engineering studies suggest that the Jackson-27 well could stabilize flow rates between 350 Mcfd and 450 Mcfd, with the potential for a maximum of 550 Mcfd under optimized production conditions. This presents a substantial improvement in efficiency compared to earlier evaluations conducted in the Galactica-Pegasus helium development project, in which the State-16 well showed calculated permeabilities constraining future developments. Helium One is notable for holding a 50% working interest in the Galactica-Pegasus project along with Blue Star Helium Ltd, which enhances the collaborative potential for future investments and the strategic targeting of production output. The Galactica-Pegasus project is viewed as significant because of its multiple product streams, contributing to a market that is currently facing helium supply constraints. The partnership with Blue Star, through shared resources and planning, is designed for maximum efficiency and optimal exploitation of the resource. Following the promising results from Jackson-27, Helium One Global is gearing up for further development planning, which encompasses a comprehensive review of all drilling and testing outcomes to better understand long-term yields. Given this exciting development, both companies are expected to advance their strategies to meet increasing helium market demands, making this a pivotal moment in their exploration agenda.
